Volant Cool Air Intakes is building a project Ford F-150 to be a showcase for the company’s air intake systems. The truck will also include a variety of aftermarket performance, suspension and body upgrades and will be at this year’s SEMA show in Las Vegas, Nevada.
For the past month Volant has been gathering parts and pieces, but the company also collaborated with RK Sport in Murrieta, California, who has been designing a new 2011 F-150 hood that will debut on the truck. The hood features a wide scoop and is a direct bolt-on replacement for the factory hood. After several weeks of design and preparation, the new RK Sport F-150 hood was completed and installed onto Volant’s F-150.

The hood also features a functional cold intake port and comes primed and ready for paint. Along with the hood, other body components will be added, including a cool paint scheme that will turn this ordinary F-150 in a custom show vehicle, but will remain functional.
Wth the hood bolted in place, you can see the low-profile, functional scoop. The factory grille shell also easily bolts up to the hood and once painted, will greatly enhance the appearance of Volant's truck.
Along with RK Sport, various other aftermarket manufacturers are supplying products for Volant’s pickup. These include, a Street Scene Equipment front bumper cover and rear roll pan, Lexani 24-inch LSS10 wheels, Toyo Proxes ST tires, a McGaughys lowering suspension that will lower the front two inches and the rear four inches, a Snug Top RL Series tonneau cover and a Bed Rug bed kit. Most of the paint and body component installation work to Volant’s truck will be done at FMS/ATS Designs in Cerritos, California, that will take place over the next several weeks.
