• Pontiac G8 Cool Air Intake System

Most aftermarket air intakes for the Pontiac G8 utilize a cotton/gauze filter and a heat shield. But Volant knows that heat shields do little to prevent your engine from ingesting under-hood heat. In designing their new Pontiac G8 intake system, Volant created a sealed air intake box that’s bigger than the OEM box. It also uses a larger intake duct so that the filter box and duct stores and flows a greater volume of air. In addition, Volant added an extra port so you can add on the optional scoop, which rams additional cold air at speed. The result is a unique air intake with improved power, throttle response and better filter protection from moisture and dirt.

The Pontiac G8 intake #415960 also incorporates Donaldson PowerCore® Filtration Technology that provides superior airflow over factory paper element filters, and better protection than standard cotton/gauze aftermarket filters. The filter is revolutionary, as it uses channels to capture dirt, never needs oiling, and is 99.97 percent efficient. In addition, the filter lasts 100,000 miles before it ever needs to be replaced.

Because Volant’s Cold Air Intakes are manufactured from X-link polyethylene plastic, it allows for subtle changes in tube diameters, smooth bends and additional air scoops that all lead to improved air velocity and proper Mass Air Flow Sensor operation. They also use high-grade silicone sleeves and stainless steel clamps to ensure a secure fit and eliminate distortion from long-term exposure to engine heat.

The Pontiac G8 Cold Air Intake system installs in minutes and has a factory/performance appearance with a polished stainless steel lid to enhance your engine compartment.

PowerCore® is a registered tradename of Donaldson Company Inc.
